Grand Hyatt Shanghai

Shanghai, China

The Grand Hyatt Shanghai is an iconic luxury 5-star hotel located in the Pudong area of Shanghai, China.

When the Chinese decided to build their first skyscraper in 1994, they weren't messing around; they only threw up the fifth-tallest building in the world, complete with a barrel-vaulted atrium that spirals from the 56th to the 87th floor. Not only that, but the top floor maintains a super-cool observatory with 360-degree views, and houses world’s highest post office.

This 548-room hotel occupies the 53rd to 87th floors of the 88-story Jin Mao Tower. The hotel was the highest hotel in the world, at 421m (1,381ft), until the Park Hyatt opened in the neighbouring Shanghai World Financial Center. The hotel features a 33-story atrium, one of the highest in the world.

The hotel, with an elegant Art Deco architecture, offers views of The Bund, a stretch of restored historical buildings, along the Huangpu River. 18 different room styles are offered.

The property boasts luxuriously decorated rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, a range of versatile meeting rooms and gourmet cuisine across 9 stylish restaurants.

Each spacious guestroom is fitted with a flat-screen TV with satellite and cable channels, coffee machine and laptop safe box. The generous working area, cosy seating area with sofa, and comfortable beds with feather down duvets create an elegant atmosphere. The marble bathroom includes bathrobes, a high-pressure shower tower and separate deep-soaking bathtub.
